Posted on April 27th, 2007.

MSNBC is reporting (Amid housing bust, some markets still boom: Buyers challenged as prices keep rising in Pacific Northwest, Texas) that there are some major metropolitan markets around the country that are actually experiencing appreciation during what seems to be an overall difficult real estate market.

One of the things that professional real estate investors must be aware of is that there is no real estate market - there are lots and lots of little markets. That’s why it’s so important to know your local market. Real estate investors must understand the local market to be successful. What works in one market won’t work in another and what’s true for one market is not necessarily true for another.
